Dropbox

Today at work I learned about a service called Dropbox. We use it for file sharing, but it is marketed as online backup as well. The company has been around since 2008, and has a basic plan for free that gives a user 2 gigs of free space.

I tend to use Google Docs for most of my file sharing and editing. The nice thing about Dropbox, is that it doesn't limit you to documents or any file type or size. It automatically syncs when it detects new files or changes are detected in your Dropbox folder. A bonus, is you get a free basic plan that gives you 2 gigs for free.

The con is that the next plan up is $9.99 a month for 50 gigs of storage. 50 gigs is great, however I get something like 80 gigs of photo and document storage from Google for like $20.00 a year.
